Our tentative projects/suggestions

Here's where we are with 2 years to go!

A month long (with additional special events) celebration in the summer of 2011 featuring several weekend and week-day activities:

-- A museum focusing on the history and heritage of Jonesville and the greater Yadkin Valley -- incorporating many of the suggestions below ..... (Each activity should have an educational component to be communicated/prepared in conjunction with local schools.)

*Display of Military Service and Honors
*Jonesville Speedway exhibit

-- Activation of a cable channel (to be shared with Town of Elkin, other communities, tourism authority and local hotels/motels) to communicate local activities via Turner Broadcasting Cable Service or Dish TV system.

-- Development of CD's emphasizing museum exhibits and an oral history

Dear Dr. Wolfe,

If you do not have success in locating a facility for the museum in Jonesville, I'm one of several who would like to see it in Elkin, I know.

I will stay in touch with you and wish you well.

Jonesville is fortunate that you have returned home. Don't forget that Elkin is also your home!
